Innovative Iceland shows the way with unique NFT!
As the very first ones in the world, Icelandic meditation and virtual reality (VR) startup Flow launches itself on the Flow blockchain via a meditation NFT (Non Fungible Token). Now Icelanders make history by entering as the very first VR meditation player, with their own NFT available on the Flow blockchain globally.

What is the Flow.is NFT?
Flow’s NFT is a virtual representation of Flow’s VR meditation images that can be purchased and further traded online. A NFT (non fungible token), is an unit of data stored on a digital ledger, called a blockchain, that certifies a digital asset to be unique and therefore not interchangeable. During 2021 the global NFT market has seen multiple multi-million dollar acquisitions of these digital objects and now Icelandic VR meditation startup Flow has launched their own NFT as well, trading online at Rarible NFT marketplace from 11th November.

How does the blockchain-based NFT economy work?
NFTs are “one-of-a-kind” assets in the digital world that can be bought and sold like any other piece of property, but they have no tangible form of their own. These digital tokens serve as certificates of ownership for virtual or physical assets. While the internet has several NFT-specialized online auction houses, the general public and press have noticed traditional art auctions selling NFTs at record prices. In spring 2021, Christie’s art auction house sold digital artist Beeple’s work for 69 Million US dollars, and Sotheby’s sold the “Bored Ape” NFT for 24.4 Million US Dollars in September.
How can NFTs be purchased?
Collectors, investors and consumers can purchase NFTs from several online NFT marketplaces such as Rarible, Superrare, Opensea and Atomicmarket. NFTs can be traded and sold later for higher prices in digital marketplaces, or traditional art auctions, such as Christie’s and Sothebys.
